Elementary School Field Day

On Wednesday, May 17th, the Elementary School held its annual Field Day. This year the Field Day consisted of a myriad of games and stations, where children of all age levels proved their athletic skills.

The students worked their way through many different stations which required their physical fitness as well as their team spirit. Some of the games included were a water-sponge relay, a broom-throwing contest, a three-legged race, soccer shots at a goal wall, and various parachute-blanket games.

This year’s Field Day featured the special appearance by the school’s mascot, the Griffin. Thanks due to the generous donation of the Nighbert Family, the Griffin was able to present itself in its new costume. Thank you so much!

The young athletes were able to restore their energy at a buffet table. A healthy snack and a refreshing drink were much appreciated to inspire the athletes to continue their achievements.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our volunteers. Success at these events is only possible when all DSW committees work together.  Once again, this was demonstrated very well during this year’s Field Day.

The all-around parental commitment was admirable, especially in light of the sweltering summer temperature. The administration of the Elementary School was able to warmly thank the parent volunteers at the communal lunch that followed.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Mrs. Eirich, Mrs. Everett, Mrs. Fenker, Mrs. Kaltenstadler, Mrs. Kuttke, Mrs. Nagy, Mrs. Spikaart, Ms. Twinn, Mrs. Whitfield, Mr. Brachmann, Mr. Elmenshawy, Mr. Feldner, Mr. Hildebrand, Mr. Illig, Mr. Karlsson, Mr. Medick, Mr. Reece, Mrs. Rodriguez, and Mr. Thony.

We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to our Physical Education teachers, who enthusiastically planned and prepared this special day.
