Academic Excellence at GISW

At the German International School Washington D.C., we are proud of our challenging German curriculum that is taught in a truly international environment. Our academic program has a strong focus on foreign languages as well as on science with lab science being continuously integrated from fourth through twelfth grade. As a certified German School Abroad, we comply with both educational guidelines required in Germany and those mandated by the State of Maryland. The German International Abitur (DIA) and the U.S. High School Diploma granted at the end of twelfth grade provide our students access to universities in Europe as well as in the United States. Our alumni have been accepted to top Universities around the world.
